PhD student position in the field of computational electrodynamics

Offer Description: This is a PhD student position in  a research project: Electromagnetic Design of flexIble SensOrs. The goal of the project is to engage young PhDs and students in the development of a new and highly innovative commercial product based on groundbreaking research: a software package that will enable companies to carry out fast and accurate simulation-based design of sensing devices and their associated passive circuitry with carefully engineered electromagnetic properties.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Research related to model order reduction techniques for accelerated solution of Maxwell’s equations using FEM
  2. Development of algorithms and  prototypes of  numerical code (with  an option to be made the code publicly  available under a permissive open source license)
  3. Testing and benchmarking of algorithms and procedures
  4. Development of test designs using FEM code
  5. Report writing
  6. Preparation of research papers  for  leading journals and conferences.
  7. Dissemination of project results on workshops and conferences
  8. Assisting MSc students
